Flying the Friendly Skies

So this is what happens when you have three days to book an international trip just days before Christmas...

-DFW to LAX on United Airlines (7 hr layover here)
-LAX to Bangkok on Thai Airways- (huh?) (oh yeah, this one's about an 18 hour flight...
in economy class nonetheless
-Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City on Thai Airways

Then for the trip back home...
Hanoi to Taipei, Taiwan on EVA Airlines
Taipei to LAX on EVA Airlines
LAX to DFW on American Airlines

This doesn't take into account our in-country flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi midway through our trip which we'll book while we're in HCMC. It'll be our first flight with our baby so wish us luck that we'll know what to pack in the diaper bag!

The saving grace? business class seats on the EVA Air flights are looking pretty delightful (well, anything would after the economy seats for 18 hours on the way over!!!) as is the 1st class ride from LAX to DFW that'll bring us home.

Now, let's hope we don't have to change our flights for the way home due to paperwork delays in Vietnam. This could really screw up the only good seats we have for our trip.

Maybe tomorrow we'll get word about our hotel reservations. I still have no idea what we'll be doing on a daily basis while we're in Vietnam besides the fact that we are supposed to have our Giving and Receiving Ceremony on either Monday or Tuesday, the 21st or 22nd. That is when we get to keep Little Man S for good...meaning he's ours!

We couldn't even use frequent flyer miles for these tickets because it really wouldn't have saved us much money.
-supposedly due to the holidays and the short notice-

Now, as my dad would say..

Let's get this show on the road!
